UPS's Journey Experience and Design Innovation (nicknamed J.E.D.I.) team generated $500M+ in incremental revenue from digital experimentation. Now the hardest problem is demand, not results. David Massey, MFA didn't plan to build UPS's experimentation program. He stumbled into it on his first day. It was 2016. Massey walked into a meeting about which A/B testing tool UPS should purchase. He raised his hand. Someone looked at him and said: you know how this works? Good. You own it now. That moment of accidental ownership became one of the more consequential decisions in UPS's recent digital history. The program Massey built — the Journey Experience and Design Innovation team, or JEDI — has since generated over half a billion dollars in incremental revenue from digital experimentation on UPS.com.
