I see so many software teams launch massive features without actually defining what success looks like beforehand. They pull up a BI tool after the fact and try to find a metric that moved in the right direction to justify the engineering hours. True rigor means setting the success criteria before the first line of code is written and using experimentation to audit the result. Did your last launch achieve its specific goal, or are you still looking for a graph to prove it?
