Beyond the Front End Field Notes — Day 2 Yesterday I learned that a bandit is not a variant. The variant is the thing users see. The bandit is the way users are dynamically routed between variants based on performance signals. A traditional A/B test keeps the split stable so you can get a cleaner read. A bandit changes the split as it learns, so more users can start seeing the option that appears to be working best.
